Abstract
"Este trabajo pretende capturar la voz del consumidor dentro del mercado de celulares "smartphone" de Estados Unidos. Su objeto de estudio es el Droid Incredible, un producto de HTC. Por otro lado, se comparará el rendimiento de este producto con alguno de sus principales competidores: iPhone 4 de Apple, Droid X de Motorola y Bold 9700 de Blackberry.
La innovación que presenta esta tesis es el uso de la Minería de Opinión para lograr los resultados. La Minería de Opinión es una aplicación específica de la Minería de Texto, un proceso que permite obtener información de alto valor a partir de texto desestructurado basado en el lenguaje natural. La información de texto que se usará como entrada al análisis será información pública de la Web, extraída a través de la técnica de Web Scraping.
Con el uso de estas herramientas se encontrarán los principales problemas que el consumidor enfrenta cuando usa el producto siendo las más importantes la poca vida útil de la batería y un sistema de comunicación errático. Por otro lado, se hará un análisis especial sobre la velocidad de respuesta del teléfono, un atributo valorado en la competencia y con no tan buenos resultados en el Droid Incredible.
En el trabajo se explicará como el estudio de la voz del consumidor es una etapa clave en el mejoramiento de la calidad de los productos. La información proporcionada permitirá a la organización tomar acciones para corregir sus problemas, pues el método planteado corresponde a un proceso real de mejoramiento de la calidad".
"This work intends to capture the voice of the consumer within the US smartphone market. The object of this study is the Droid Incredible, a product manufactured by HTC. On the other hand, the analysis will compare the performance of this product with some of its main competitors: iPhone 4 by Apple, Droid X by Motorola, and Bold 9700 by Blackberry. The innovation that this thesis presents is the use of the sentiment analysis to achieve the results. Sentiment analysis in a specific application of Text Mining, a process that allows obtaining high quality information from unstructured text data. The text information that will be used as an input to this analysis will be extracted from the public domain of the Web, through a Web Scraping technique. With the use of these tools the main issues that the consumer faces will be found, from which the most important are the short battery life and an erratic communication system. On the other hand, there will be a special analysis on phone responsiveness, an attribute valued in the competition but with poorer results from the Droid Incredible. This work will explain how the voice of the consumer is a key phase of product quality enhancement. Since the proposed method is part of a real process, the information provided will allow the organization to take actions to correct their issues".
