"Este trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar la posibilidad de la instalación de un generador de olas artificiales para la práctica de surf.
El surf es un deporte que hasta hace unos pocos años era únicamente practicable en el mar, con las olas que proveía la naturaleza. A falta de olas, los fanáticos de este deporte se ingeniaron la manera de generar las condiciones necesarias para practicar surf en espejos de agua sin olas y hasta en lugares impensados. Es así como surgió el Wake Surf, los Flow Rider y otros dispositivos de su tipo que permitieron practicar este deporte en lugares donde antes resultaba imposible hacerlo.
Al día de hoy existen múltiples desarrollos y diseños que generan frentes de onda aptos para la práctica de este deporte. Sus grandes consumos energéticos, hacen que la mayoría no sustentables por si solos.
Actualmente no existe ningún parque acuático artificial para la práctica de surf, más quedó en el olvido el intento de la apertura de uno de los proyectos más grande en la historia de este deporte."
This work aims to analyze the possibility of installing an artificial wave generator for surfing. Surfing is a sport that until a few years ago was only practicable in the sea, with waves that nature provided. The lack of waves, urged fans of the sport to design a way to recreate the conditions for surfing on bodies of water without waves and even in unusual places. This is how emerged the Wake Surfing, Flow Rider and other devices of its kind that allowed to practice this sport in places where before was impossible. As of today there are many developments and designs that generate wave front fit to practice this aport. Their great energy consumption, make most of them unsustainable on their own. Currently there are no artificial water park for surfing, but there was an attempt to open one of the largest projects in the history of this sports some years ago.
