Abstract
"Este trabajo propone el análisis de una tecnología disruptiva: las celdas de combustible de metanol directo. Para ello se evalúan las posibilidades de éxito de la misma mediante un estudio comparativo entre la generación actual de baterías recargables y esta tecnología emergente.
El objetivo es poder evaluar los problemas que quedan por resolver para que pueda insertar esta tecnología a nivel global, proponiendo soluciones y mitigaciones a las barreras existentes.
A partir del análisis se concluye que para una exitosa transición hacia una economía de hidrógeno, el primer paso radica indefectiblemente en la introducción de las celdas de combustible de metanol directo en el mercado de los dispositivos electrónicos portátiles".
"This paper describes the analysis of direct methanol fuel cells (DMFC), a disruptive tecnology. Success possibilities are evaluated through the comparative study between actual rechargeable battery generation and this sprouting technology. The scope of the project involves the evaluation of the obstacles to be solved so that this technology can become a worlwide lifestyle, suggesting solutions and mitigations to existent barriers. Through the analysis of the present information it can be conclued that the first step towards a successful transition to a hydrogen economy, lays inevitably on the introduction of DMFC to the portable electronics market".
